Hayashi-Sika

In December of 1999, Sika Japan Ltd. joined forces with Hayashi Telempu, a Nagoya, Japan based company, to form a new joint venture, Hayashi-Sika Automotive, Ltd. The primary mission of this partnership to bring Sika acoustic technology into the Japanese OEM market.

Hayashi Telempu, established in 1910, is a leading supplier of automotive interior and exterior parts in Japan. They have global sales of over $850 million; major customers include Toyota and Honda. Their expertise in floor carpet and its relevance to acoustic integrity and sound quality, make them an ideal partner in developing a complete acoustic package to automotive OEM’s.

This new venture will allow Sika to introduce current and new automotive products to Japanese automobile manufacturers as well as solidify Sika’s presence as a worldwide supplier of acoustic, bonding and sealing products. An additional benefit is that Sika brand names will be approved at the highest level at Japanese OEM’s and allow uniform privilege in all countries worldwide.

In addition a technical/supply license with Sika U.S.A. has been established to provide primary support to Hayashi-Sika Automotive Ltd.
